It was a chilly day. Late November. The day after Black Friday.
Although I was groggy from my tryptophan induced coma and shopping til I dropped, I was beyond excited for my family portrait session in Verona. Gary & Krista have the most AMAZING backyard for a photographer like myself.

Big ol’ barn. check

Plenty of natural light. check
Plus, they have four incredibly handsome boys who were such a pleasure to photograph. We may or may not have had to bribe the youngest due to the chilly weather, but his grins and giggles let me know he was still enjoying our time outside! (And he even got his own photoshoot before everyone else because he HAD to have his kneepads on in some shots) 😉
Afterwards, as we warmed up inside, Krista and I had a lovely chat about our grandmothers. As our eyes held back the tears just barely, I was so grateful in that moment that my photography was allowing me to have moments like this. To form relationships, friendships and share stories. To capture snapshots in time. To tell a story.
I’m already reserved for their freshman son’s senior portraits and another family session in a year. Who knows what the next year or three will bring…but I can’t wait to be there to find out!
