Ironman Wisconsin weekend is upon us.
On Sunday I will be a part of over 45,000 spectators cheering along friends and teammates as they accomplish an incredible physical feat : a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike, and wrap it all up nice and pretty with a 26.2 mile run (a full marathon). And I’m sure much of the day will not only be physical effort, but mental fortitude. Remain focused. Carry on through the pain. Get ‘er done.
I am more than proud of my friends and fellow Team In Training teammates who will be participating this year. It’s crazy to imagine…we biked Tahoe last year together, and now they’re doing SUCH bigger things!
To my Irongirls–Nikki and Vonda–go get ’em, tigers. You’ve put in the hours and have earned this. I’ll be sending healing thoughts so no boo-boo’s pop up. And repeat after me…D-O-N-U-T-S. 🙂

To Nicole, who I haven’t had the honor of riding with but consider you TNT ‘family’ … last year you made me bust out in tears when I saw your parents cheering you on. You are such a veteran at this, it seems. You never cease to amaze me. Your positive attitude and optimism is a breath of fresh air. I hope you feel the wind at your back and the waves pushing you to the finish.

To my ‘ziggy zaggy ziggy zaggy oy oy oy!’ Coach Grant…I will scream my head off for you and give you a power boost if you need one at any point.

To my blog-novel-writing, Tritherapy.org lovin’, transportation specialist Dano…you better be on the lookout for Gena and I shooting you with our big ol’ lens. Congrats on tackling this beast a second time. Your endless list making and planning will pay off, and you will be an IRONMAN x 2!

Good luck and safe race weekend to all of the competitors. I’ll be cheering you on!
Thanks Annika! One more day – looking forward to seeing you out there. I’ve gotta have more cowbell!
